Explanation: A race condition exists in which the VFTP client may terminate before the IBM FTP API subtask (EZAFTPLC). If that happens, the VFTP client will ABEND S-A03. To prevent the ABEND, the VFTP client postpones its termination while it monitors termination of the IBM FTP API subtask every five seconds, up to 60 times, for a maximum timespan of five minutes. During that time, if the IBM FTP API subtask ends, the VFTP client will resume termination. The ABEND is thus prevented. If the timespan is exhausted before the IBM FTP API subtask ends, the VFTP client will resume termination and most likely ABEND S-A03. The ABEND is preferable to waiting indefinitely.
